I Stand Corrected...

So the first day that  I quit nicotine, I was strong, less nervous than I had anticipated, and brave. When the cravings finally hit, and I got emotional, I cried, but I prevailed.

Then the second day, I felt free from addiction and free at last. No cravings, no urges, no lust for smokes... most of the day, then I got a twinge so I bought suckers and gum; I also bought a small smooth rock that has COURAGE engraved on its surface... I had read about reality objects, and I previously thought about having something i can find whilst looking for a vape or smoke in my pockets, so that is what I got for myself. I also bought nice smelling candles and I bought Vicks vapocool cough drops. This helped me a lot because I was an avid menthol smoker. Fast forward, I have 10 days under my belt, and I feel great!

I did want to make a comment about the book that most everyone praises on Ex. Of course that is the Late Allen Carr's, Easy Way. I bought this book last year and at first (and until recently) thought that it was the biggest load of poop that I had ever read, because it seemed to me that his approach was almost like he was mocking his readers. However when I got to thinking about how he says that the secret is to just put it down and then never pick it up again, I realized that this is exactly just what I had done to quit myself. It turns out that it was not bad advice.

I gave my copy to my therapist just in case she could help someone else quit in the future. It is my way of paying it forward.

Therefore, thank you Allen Carr. At first read it seems too good to be true. I mean no cravings, no withdraw symptoms... Wow is all I have to say. Thanks for the advice Mr. Carr, I did what you said and now I am free!

I am a 33 year old woman who has smoked for 15 years. I started smoking when I was 18 yeats old. Sadly, I started smoking because no one ever asked me to smoke cigarettes or anything else, so I took it as an insult and started anyway. How is that for insight...
