You will make it through your first day! Read a lot. Know what is coming. Make plans to deal with what you know you will experience. And yes, do not think about quitting for life. Quit just for tomorrow, and then deal with the next day when it arrives. You can do it!
Being nervous is normal, Mia! Just part of the initiation into Smoke FREE Living! It can be challenging but it is doable and worth it! Give yourself a chance to Soar!
Of COURSE you can get through it...do you think we are all super heroes? WE got through that first day and the days that followed and it DOES get easier. Fear of failure is a terrible thing, you CAN get through this. Anyone who really wants to be free can be free, this prison was one of our own making and we have the keys.
When IS that first day and if it has passed, how did it go? You know that we are here and will do anything we can to help. I hope you have done the reading and preparation and that you understand that education and support are the keys to a successful quit.
Well, then, you are on your way! Congratulations and welcome to a free life, a life that is not controlled by nicotine. It is one day at a time and sometimes one day is too long, it can be one hour or one minute. Drink lots of water to flush your system of the nicotine and remember that it will get better. I will not tell you that it is easy, it was not easy for me but I will tell you that if you remember the acronym N.O.P.E. Not One Puff Ever, it will be your best friend. You are not giving anything up, Mia, you are taking BACK your life. Read all that you can on this site and go to whyquit.com and read there. You will see how others have gotten through the beginning of their quits. Stick with us and we will support you in any way that we can.
Thanks, I wasn't quit sure what was going on but I looked back at other comments and figured that either she was beginning or she was planning to begin.
