Today is my quit day. It is 1 pm.  I never smoke at work so today has been easy so far. I am worried about getting off work though. I got thru my morning coffee without smoking.

Yay!  Congrats on Day One!  A lot of people find their first day or two much easier than they expected.  Try not to worry about tonight, until tonight.

You might plan ahead how you WILL handle this evening.   Can you find a different route home from work?  Count the red/blue/white cars you see on the drive.  Take a cold bottle of water from which to sip ?  Once home, change up your routine.  Maybe go for a quick walk before (or after) dinner?  Get right up from the table and start cleaning up.  Go to an area where you didn't used to smoke?  Maybe play a computer game?  Maybe stop on your way home and get a crossword or jigsaw puzzle to work on this evening?  Be sure to check in here and read today's blogs and responses.  You have permission to go to bed early and read, if you are so inclined.  You get through these first days however you can!

Nancy has some great ideas!  Keep focused on this being your first Day One and turning into a Day WON!  You can do this...one day at a time and one second at a time if you need.

Hi Jessica, if you are feeling ansy after work log on to Ex-- read and/or talk. Get ready for friendly support from Ex. Because we are here to help. Welcome. You need not do this all alone.

Jessica1234  Coming to the site and reading and blogging and commenting will be your best bets.  I spent as much time as I possibly could on here.  I came here first thing every morning and last thing at night and many times during the day when I had a opportunity.  This is a journey and not an event and it really is one day at a time.  You can do this, please remember that we have all been where you are.  We all want you to be successful and will do anything we can to help that to happen.

Welcome to EX and to the best decision you could ever make for yourself, for your life, for those who love you.

stay busy, pick up a coloring book and some pencils, take inventory of your house and what you've been neglecting

I made it! Thanks to those of you that commented and encouraged and gave ideas. I avoided the place outside i usually went to smoke..i just did go out there at all. Instead i planted some grass seed and did some yard work. It was tough, I won't lie. But I stayed busy and I made it. Today is Day 2. It is just after lunch and i made it (again) through morning coffee and news without a smoke.

YAY!  You turned Day One into Day WON!  Now....keep stacking up your days!  Repeat NOPE (not one puff ever) and SINAO (smoking is not an option) and my personal favorite, "I don't do that anymore!"  If you can make it through Day One, you can make it through Day two....and so on.  You got this!
