I haven't been on the ex site in so long I thought I had found a different planet! In looking through my stuff I found my blogs from the holidays last year. It was a great release for me to put these together last year so I hope you enjoy! Here is Holiday blog #1 from 11/08. Hope you enjoy....
Well last night went a wee bit better then the night before. I went into work and my boss says "Karen can you come into my office?" My junkie thinking is oh great Im getting called on the carpet for not being "nice" to the witch from the night before. My hands are clamy and I go in and say "yes?" looking all innocent like. He then says let me shake your hand. What? You won the weekly IPMs (Items per minute scanned). I did What? You just won yourself a gift certificate for having the top IPMs for the week.
Now once he scraped me off the floor he says now its time to take your picture for the wall. "Do what, for where? Your kidding right?? Is my makeup ok? What about my hair? On the wall? The big wall? My big freakin face on the big wall? Like right behind me where the world can see?" He says very calmly...Yeap that would be it. So he takes the picture and of course has to immediatly print it out and put it up for everyone to see...
So after I get over the shock of not getting fired doesnt he put me on the register right in front of the big flippin picture of myself. Gotta love the boss. My oldest daughter stopped in to see me and she looks up at the wall and says "Hey mom is there a reward?" I do love my kids!
Now of course my boss thought that was the funniest thing he had ever heard and the joke of the night was "Hey look I think I see police cars Karen!" All in all it made for a much better night even though I had more 25lb turkeys come through then I can count. I think frozen turkeys might say they are 25lbs but I think they are much heavier. Just my opinion after hours of picking them up....Oh heres a good one. This fairly young guy comes through my line with a 25 pounder and of course stands there with his arms folded as Im fighting with a frozen turkey. Ever try to pick up a frozen turkey in the plastic? They are slippery buggers. After I got it in his cart he says...are you ready? "Oh! Did you need help?" "No I enjoy chasing a frozen turkey around my belt and throwing out my back but thanks for offering" (oh that was in my head).
So last night was much better. I now have a gift certificate and I only have 6 more days that I have to look at that giant size picture of me on the wall.
Cashiers Pet Peave of the Day...Dont come into Wegmans with a Walmart cloth bag..Or Walmart with a Wegmans bag. Its just not right! If you wanna be green be green with our bags...kthxbye
