I "cheated" and cooked a frozen enchillada dinner. No homemade for me tonight!

well I offered to make something for my daughter and her bf to stop by and get on their way home from work. She works full time and goes to school full time. I made stew a few nights ago and  jarred it up so I'll give her a couple jars of that too.

What's a dad to do?

Working....and running calls one right at meal time....so I had to settle for Sonic on the run.  I'll try to get back to my healthy pattern tomorrow!

Lobster roll with lemon instead of mayo and a few bites of fried fisherman's platter (haddock, scallop, clam, etc.) with relatives in from the Midwest where they go for this stuff the instant they arrive in New England! TRYING hard to keep my weight and inches the same after 60 days...holding my own but think I'll be better off to be a bit more ambitious, like how 'bout trying to lose some in the process. I bet it can be done....

Wedding Anniversary, had Fetticini Alfredo and garlic bread. can't even stand myself. 24 hours now so yes I did think of a smoke after dinner, guess that was one I liked. Didn't happen.  EEEHHAAA  Jane

Fresh haddock poached in a delightful white wine and butter sauce. Salad with homemade blue cheese, olive oil, and vinegar dressing. Yum.

I'm down 64 pounds and four pants sizes since my two year ex-smoking anniversary on February 11th, but I'm now in the homestretch and progress is slower. Fortunately, the eat less/move more lifestyle changes have taken hold, much in the same way that non-smoking takes hold, so I no longer feel like I'm "giving up" anything by eating healthier and exercising.

About the Author
Hello, My name is Dale. I was quit 18 months before joining this site and had participated on another site during that time. I learned a lot there and brought it with me. I joined this site the first week of August 2008. I didn't pressure myself to quit. HOW I QUIT I didn't count, I didn't deny myself to get started. When I considered quitting (at a friends request to influence his brother to quit), I simply told myself to wait a little longer. No denial, nothing painful. After 4 weeks I was down to 5 cigarettes from a pack a day. The strength came from proving to myself, I didn't need to smoke because I normally would have smoked. Simple yes? I bought the patch. I forgot to put one on on the 4th day. I needed it the next day but the following week I forgot two days in a row I put one in my wallet with a promise to myself that I would slap it on and wait an hour rather than smoke. It rode in my wallet my first year. There's nothing keeping any of you from doing this. It doesn't cost a dime. This is about unlearning something you've done for a long time. The nicotine isn't the hard part. Disconnecting from the psychological pull, the memories and connected emotions is. :-) Time is the healer.
