Share your quitting journey
I stumbled upon this community today and I am hoping that in seeing your journey's, I will be inspired to quit smoking and stay quit. I hate cigarettes and how they smell and what they do, but I still enjoy smoking them and that's my biggest problem. I used to be addicted to Heroin in my teen years and was able to quit that (22 years sober from that), but cigarettes are proving to be much more difficult for me. What is it with nicotine that has this crazy hold over me? So, I picked a quit date a few weeks from today and am hoping that I can slowly cut down on the amount I have been smoking (about 10 or more a day currently) in hopes that it would make it a teensy weensy bit less difficult when my quit date arrives. I've lost count on the times I've quit but there have been many times, the longest I went without a cigarette was 2 years.....here's to hoping with what I know from past experiences and being part of this community that this time will be the LAST time! Hope you all have a lovely weekend and I'm looking forward to being inspired by you all.
