Well, I smoked my last cigarette at midnight on New Year's Day. That makes this the 4th day without cigarettes. It has been difficult, but I've found that nicotine gum takes the edge off when I start freaking out a little. I keep a couple pieces with me at work and then I always have a pack of regular gum too, so I'm not just continuously popping the nicotine gum. I'm coughing more than I used to (which I have read is normal) and my chest is tight and hurts a little. I've been sleeping more when I'm not at work and that is weird to me, but if I'm asleep, I don't think about smoking. My boyfriend quit 2 months ago and not having him smoking is definitely a help. I don't know if I could be strong if he were still smoking.
