Meaning you smoked? Are you still smoking? Do you know WHY you "slipped"?

JonesCarpeDiem

what made me smoke?

How soon before you quit again, if you haven't?

If you have a slip and decide to finish the pack...and then buy another pack

Better to stop ASAP and show yourself you're serious.

How long did you not smoke before your slip?

Sorry to hear that, but don't beat yourself up.  This is hard and it's a learning experience.  Understand what happened so it doesn't happen again.  The important thing is to get right back on track and not postpone it.  Do you have cigarettes?  If you do, git rid of them.   What a great day to quit - it's a time of rebirth.  Spring is full of transformations - you can be one of them.   Happy Easter.

Don’t beat yourself up ... learn from it and find what and how you could do different ... now get back to quitting again ... by reading and reinforcing your reasons to quit smoking...~Colleen 139 DOF

Thanks for YOUR self honesty and courage- no worries Jeminii you did what NICOTINE ADDICTS DO- they use their drug of CHOICE NICOTINE- I did use MY DRUG NICOTINE too- it is NOT a slip- I was told I CHOSE to use MY DRUG NICOTINE BECAUSE I wanted to use!  Then I came back the next day- for ME - I confessed and prayed- Dear Jesus if you dont take these cigs from ME I will smoke them until I drop dead in Jesus name amen and I woke the next day - COLD TURKEY QUIT- I am a born again believer since November 6, 1986 but I did NOT surrender MY NICOTINE ADDICTION until I admitted complete defeat and surrendered to MY Lord Jesus- PLEASE take what HELPS and let go of the rest - to be HELPFUL is MY only aim- thank you.

You have said so little in your post that  I guess I'll have to respond as best I can to you--the main point is that you'd like help. You are not the first smoker to go back to smoking--I like many fell face forward to a cigarette and felt that I had no other choice. Finally I quit--that was in 2013. But I also prepared myself to quit. And I think I learned something from my previous failure--I lasted only 9 hours and caved so fast, I felt like a complete idiot fool--was so ashamed. But will power had nothing to do with my failure. I wasn't prepared for craves, feelings, problems, attitude, moods, life. Today, you have so many choices--support, internet support, hospitals run quit programs, also their are patches, medicines (they can give support but can't make you quit).

Keep talking about your goal to quit. Stay invested. Get more help--because it is here for you. Yes you can quit one day at a time.

DO let us know what you are doing now.  I am really sorry this happened but it is not the end of the road, get back up and start over, as soon as possible and figure out what went wrong and how you can avoid it happening again.  You CAN do this, so many of us have had to get back up and quit again, so can you.

I smoked two cigarettes. Anger was the trigger.

Congratulations on your new house. I know what a huge accomplishment that is being a single woman. You must be sooooo excited. As you said life is going to happen whether you are smoking or not. Trust me when I tell you that if you can just stick to your quit by the time you move into that new house you won’t even be thinking of cigarettes anymore.

Did it help?

I have allowed anger to be my excuse for losing a quit more than once.  Remember, it is okay to get angry, to feel sad, to be stressed...those feelings as well as the good ones are meant to be felt, not stuffed.
