Not to worry...I am still smoke free! I have just been so busy between the kids crazy school and sports schedules, my school schedule and a custody battle for my sisters four kids who are STILL in foster care since last June despite all my husband and my efforts...so now we are playing hard ball! We have talked to an attorney and plan to fight the sate of NV for these kids! If anybody knows of an attorney in the reno or carson city area who would be willing to take this case at a discounted rate let me know!! I was able to save quite a bit of money just from us quitting smoking! I never thought my quit would benefit four other children so much! These poor kids have been moved to SEVEN different homes since last June! It's time for them to come back to their family where they belong! And since two of them have severe asthma us being smoke free is a huge gift to them! I am so proud of myself that I have stayed quit through all of this stress- Somedays are harder than others but I think back to what I have learned from all of you on this site and what I learned from the Allen Carr book and I just keep going...Smoke Free! If I can do this ANYONE can do it!!

I wish everyone a blessed smoke free day!  😃

Hi Nikki!! Hang in ther! You are a great example of staying Smoke FREE under pressure! I hope all works out for those kids - the innocent seem to suffer way too much because of immature adults! Big Gentle HUGS!

Congratulations on keeping your quits and those children will be so thankful for everything you're doing for them.  I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Nikki, children are not supposed to be kept in foster care when there is relative care available. It's a law in Minnesota and I thought it was federal. Are you in the same county as the children? I'm sorry that you have to pay an attorney. The social workers should be helping in the best interests of the children.

Good job protecting your quit. I'll pray for the children and you.

(((BIG HUGS)))

Hi again, I went to your page and see that you are in Oregon. And the children are in Nevada, right? I have seen this happen before. Try going to the Child Protection Services in your county and explain. They might be able to facilitate a transfer. It's always alot more complicated when you are in a different area. Does your sister want the children with you? That would also help, but is not necessary. Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your kind words...I am working with CPS here and they did all the home visits etc for a transfer called an ICPC...Nevada CPS said in court that they want to adopt all the children out to non family members! All of the grandparents agreed that being much younger than they are I should raise the children but if I couldn't they would take the children before they let that happen...Cps has made up lies about all of us trying to sway the judge-Thank goodness he hasn't fallen for any of it!! However he is still taking his sweet time and leaving these poor kids in care so that they can start, yes I said START therapy!! The issues of this family were called to the attention of authorities almost one year ago, April 2010 and these kids are just NOW starting therapy! The father has been put in prison and my sister's where abouts are unknown most of the time so obviously reunification isn't happening anytime soon! I just want to get these babies back here with us where they will be loved and cherished...
