Hi Everyone!  Well here I am...on the day of my 33rd birthday and on the eve of completing hell week.  I am so so excited about this and so happy with myself.  Now...the question is...since I cannot remember the last time I made it through 2 weeks of being quit....in your experience, is the second week really easier than the first?  What things do you think I should keep an eye out for? Thanks!

Kitty, Happy Birthday.!!!!!! I thought 2nd week was not easy for me. I just finished the 3rd week and that was easier than week two. Just take each day as it comes, Every night when I go to bed I think.... another day smoke free. Its a great feeling!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Congratulations on ONE WEEK!!!!! That's awesome!!! And YES, the second week is much easier in my opinion. You are starting to get used to it and the physical withdrawal is pretty much gone. Remember to be kind to yourself, don't expect too much and reward yourself for your hard work. Also, this was when I learned "I'd rather breathe than smoke." I repeated it alot.

I wouldn't get too close to those two big spiders you see coming towards you on the left.

Happy Birthday. I just had my first smoke free birthday in 24 years. Three weeks today and, yes, everyday is easier. Now it's just habit, not craving. Hang in there.

Congrats and keep going!

Congrats! It's all downhill from here. Go to quitmokingonline.com. It's not easy but it's really not that hard -- helps me to watch my language and not make more of it than it really is which is a series of fleeting urges that decrease at a surprisingly fast rate. I'm not even 2 months into my quit and find it surprising that I used to smoke -- how bizarre is that?!!?

I was terrified of quitting fearing I wouldn't succeed or something but the psychological insights on that site are right on and very helpful. So is this site so keep coming back!

Yes, the first week is the worst. You are actually battling the chemical as well as the psychological addictions. Week two is really on the psych stuff for the most part. Your body has actually gotten past the chemicals. Now you just have to retrain your mind that you are a non-smoker. Get past the habits and reprogram yourself. It really is much easier as time goes on.

Happy Birthday!!  I think everyweek after the first got progressively easier.  Stay in a positive mindset and it will be easier regardless of the day.  Remind yourself every morning when you wake up how fortunate you are to be in a place where able to quit, and that every day will get better and better!!
