I am new to the community this is my first blog. My name is Donna.  I am a 51 year old woman.  I live with a smoker and it makes it great deal tougher.  I am going to stay positive during this quit.  I have tried to quit many times before however never with the support of a group.  I have read many of blogs and think all of you are brave and I have gotten alot of inspiration from each entry.  I all so want to wish everyone a Happy New Year it is going to be the best year yet.

Hey Donna! Stick with it, girl. It's gotta be tough, living with a smoker. I've been lucky and can avoid smokers when I need too. You sound like you have the right attitude- stay positive, read this website, be patient with yourself. This is going to be the best year yet!

Hi Donna, whew.that's gotta be rough.Hope you're not prone to anger or if when you do get angry you can turn it to good use for your quit.Have to remember this is for you..for your health both mental and physical, not so you can save a ton of money to buy him a new fishing boat lol.Or whatever...but its your quit and you have to fight for it.

Breathing's good...freedom is good. keep coming back!:)  Terry

Hi Donna.

I live with a smoker too. This is my second day quit. My honey has been great. He goes outside to smoke and has been using breath mints for me so I don't smell it as much. It's still difficult though. I know we can do this. As you can see the folks here are great. Keep up the great quit!

Hi Donna, looks as if you have met a few folks already...for me, that really has been a key component of my quit.  Read some blogs, if you find a few folks that you can resonate with...add them to your friends list and stick close to them...wishing much success with your quit!

Welcome and congrats on your decision to be smokefree for the New Year!!! It is NOT as horrible as we've heard and is actually quite doable. I'm sorry your husband is still smoking but as long as it's not in the house. I was the BAD spouse when my husband quit several years ago. I was not ready. But we have never smoked in this house, only outside.
