Haven't been on in a long time- still smoke free

I have procrastinated about getting back on for a long time- sorry folks for not staying in touch

the good news is I do now have over 8 months smoke free

This corona virus has about wiped out all of my work and it is very scary - how to pay bills- rent etc.

I have been sober over 13 years now and bow smoke free and this is the first time in awhile I feel like drinking again- it is a bad situation here in Atlanta- I don't know what others than are in the bar and restaurant business are going to do about money- I play music - restaurants private events bars etc- everything has come to a halt

Good to see you, George!  Might you give music lessons to kids off from school, or even grown-ups maybe?  Maybe offer them in a park or outside space to keep everyone safe?   Just a thought!

Happy to hear  you are still smoke and alcohol free.  Now is NOT the time to be spending your money on them, anyway!!!

Stay strong!  Come here and vent if you need to - we will always have an ear to lend you!

Thx Nancy-  I appreciate your open minded support- going to group AA meetings may not be safe at this point- isolation is troubling forex alcoholics-it can go to bad places- I have three pets at home and they are asking everyone to do the social distancing thing. This is a big challenge and having no income anymore- disastrous - I am not feeling positive

Glad to see you again, George, and glad that you're still smoke and drink free!  Please, please, PLEASE don't pick up...neither will help you...you just want to be somewhere else than you are right now.  I know. I understand.  I don't have any suggestions on what to do, except what I do in a crisis and that's get on my knees and asl for help.  In this last round of overwhelming fear for me (financial insecurity is majorly frightening) help came, and I'm grateful, but I can't tell you what to do.  Just glad to see you and you'll be in MY prayers.

I am so happy you are smoke free George-Martin ... I am not sure what to say, but I like a lot of Nancy’s suggestions.  Many are in the same boat...but this has come down to life of death decisions...be well and safe...Colleen 471 DOF

Happy to hear you're still smoke free.  We all understand these are difficult and stressful times.  Neither are going to help right now and both will just cost you more money.   I liked Nancy's idea.  Parents don't know what to do with their children.  Hang in there and stay close right now.

Did you check on line for your pets?  If food is one of your concerns, there are pet food banks in many areas.
