I had a nice surprise on Friday. A good friend of mine had heard that I had, had cancer and cooked me up a beautiful Organic Corned Beef Dinner with all the fixins.... with Soda Bread and cookies and all kinds of stuff. What a surprise..... She is an angel! The lady that brought me the dinner lost her daughter Courtney to cancer at the age of 16 about 8 years ago. She spends her life keeping Courneys spirit alive by helping other kids.... She's an angel...
As for my cancer, I'm doing great! It looks like we got it all. Unfortunately my depression is still giving me a problem. About 6 months ago, I went on another depression med because my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Well the new med isn't working. So my doctor is working with my insurance to get me on my old med (it was working fine). So as soon as that goes through the insurance, I will ease myself off the one I'm taking now and start taking the old one. Then I should be back to my old self.
I still can't get my friend Alice to quit smoking. I've told her about the website, but she just won't take that first step. And it's not really the smoking that bothers me, it's her health I worry about. She's 57 and has smoked since she was 15. But she's the one who has to take the first step. I'm at 136 days smoke free! Yeah! And the funny thing is that it hasn't been that hard. I guess the first week or two was a little challenging but after that--piece of cake.
I hope everyone is doing well. I feel a little guilty living in Northern California. It's been 80 degrees here all week, when back East, everyone is getting slammed with snow and sleet and the roads are terrible to drive on.... Have a great day.... Happy St. Patrick's Day!
