Happy Smoke Free Sunday!!

I woke up this morning feeling I got a little more rest last night finally. Yesterday was a very tough day for me but Thanks to everyone's advice and support here I made it through it. A couple times I played the " just one would stop me from going crazy" game for awhile in my head but I know that isn't true. I love the word NOPE I've seen everyone talk about. It is so true. It's funny how a person can find themself making deals like I'll just have the one and the other little voice says don't do it cuz it knows that's not how things really work. All the information I got from joining this site has made the voice of don't do it louder than the do it voice. I am using the patch but it didn't seem to be doing enough. Instead of going out to get a smoke I got the longenzes and took one of those and that took the strong edge off. All the boxes read to use only one or you would get too much nicotine. I was apprehensive but just the one longenze made me feel a lot less edgy. My 6 year old granddaughter came over for the afternoon to make valentines. A song came on the radio and she got us up to start dancing around. I have to admit after doing our cool moves I felt better than I had the last couple days. Dance your way to a smokefree life went through my head. lol When the cravings come - dance until they go away. Of course at work or in the middle of the grocery store dancing might have someone calling those men in white jackets to come pick you up to take you away. 🙂 Yesterday morning when I was climbing the walls I was going to call them myself to come get me. Drinking more water yesterday like a few people mentioned helped also. I just wanted to say Thanks to Everyone for helping me get through another day. I wish you all a Happy Smokefree Sunday!!!

Dancing releases dopamine, as does singing out loud, chocolate (!), marching in place, going for a brisk walk!

Taking long, slow deep breaths is also a good crave buster and helps to de-stress you at those times.

Hang in there. You are doing GREAT!
