Hi Dale,

1st of all I would like to say you are amazing! 7 years!  I am feeling good, oddly though I have just started having headaches the past 2 days not sure if it is releated or not since I did not have any the 1st 8 days!  I am still thinking about cig's, Saturday night I actually thought about going and buying some!!! Thankfully I did not!! Been riding my bicikle alot and focusing on how improved my breathing is, the other thing that is helping me is I joined the one day at a time group where you pledge not to smoke for the next 24 hours!

Thank you for your support!

Peace

Congrats on 11 days.  Make sure to drink lots of water.  I pledge to you I will not smoke today!

I think the headaches are probably normal if you aren't using a nicotine replacement but they should end soon.

I always tell people anything is normal in the first 2-3 weeks. That is what I call rollercoaster phase.

I give no advice for those weeks because you just have to get through them.

But, they are the worst time. You may get unexpected craves in no mans land but they are just unexpected craves not, utter craziness.

You don't smoke any more.  Period.  When you swallow that, and digest it, it will seem easier.  You're doing well.  So.... keep doing it!

You are doing amazingly well...those first days are not something I want to relive...I KNEW I wasn't going to smoke because I could hardly BREATHE but the ups and downs and the feelings that seemed to come out of nowhere were just insane.

One day at a time, one HOUR at a time when it is necessary (I actually had to do a minute at a time a couple of times)...I am happy for you.  For some reason, when people told me they were "proud" of me those first few weeks, I took that as pressure and not encouragement, like I said, INSANE.

Best, Ellen

Keep it rolling, days go by faster as time goes on.  The craves will turn to just nagging thoughts that creep up & they can be easily displaced by internalizing NO! & moving on to think about something entirely different...preferably positive.  Congrats on the quit.
