A lot of the tips and advice on ex community has helped a lot my quit date is in two weeks and I know with all this support and wise words I WILL quit.........

It will be hard work but determined finding when I get a craving I can put it off by reading on this site

Working on my triggers and reading a lot today as I woke up with a nasty head old ....hmmm wondering if it has anything to do with going from 20 cigarettes to 10 yesterday......decided not to take Wellbutrin for nowwant to work on my lifestyle and not meds....

one of the best things I read on here, and now find myself saying....  I'm not a smoker.

Helped me with my triggers, just saying that to myself, because someone once put it,

you are either a smoker or you are not.

Good luck

Be careful not to cut back too quickly or too much at once. You are just keeping yourself in withdrawal which  really doesn't help with the final quit.  It is better to follow the exercises outlined on this site to be mindful of the cigarettes you smoke and their triggers, and to just put off smoking one when you want it. (that will prove to you that you don't NEED to smoke just because you want to!).

If you do all the reading, get your quit kit in order, do the exercises - then it's time to just quit!

Keep blogging.  We want to help!

some people have found a head cold an amazing way to kickstart a quit.

At young@heart - lol not trying to cut back to quickly I have a miserable head cold so that has kept me indoors.  I dont smoke in my house, havent since my children were young didnt want to expose them to 2nd hand smoke.  I also live in New Hampshire where it gets really cold so that is another factor that helps lol.

I am doing the exercises and enjoying the link you sent me to Mr. Carr's book.  Thank you!

Thanks DAle and you are so right but dont want to move my quit date up until I have all my eggs in the basket and working on my quit kit and reading the materials on here....
