Hey Fellow Ex-ers,

My first time posting - I’m not a fan of social media. I’m introverted!
But, I wanted to share that I was a lifelong smoker. I had a stroke 3 years ago. Still smoked. I finally got sick of the smell, my mouth was constantly covered in a film, and the cost was outrageous. I’m just being an ‘ex-smoker’ one day at a time. I’m at day 52. Cravings come and go - it’s the psychological things that are hard. Smoking when I was angry/upset (which was a lot-hmmm) relaxing, before bed, etc.

it’s a dangerous combination. The psychological plus the physical. The cigarette companies do a number on us in keeping us addicted. It’s nothing short of evil. I feel in some way I’m fighting back against their evil conglomerate, by quitting and not spending my money to feed the machine.

i will want to smoke in my heart till I die - but, I won’t have another puff. Maybe my days will be longer because of quitting.
