Guard Your Quit Like I Guard Hoggie

I'm out in the patio in my cargo shorts and barefoot. It's cold and breezy and overcast. Supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.

the reason I'm out here?

I Iet Hoggie outside to run for an hour or so each morning to stretch his legs.

when I first moved in I used to let him run free outside.

we live on top of a big canyon which is a series of canyons that coyotes roam freely through.

one day, someone came and got me and told me to come outside.

Hoggie was about 100 yards away and cowering and snarling at the back corner of someone's shed and a chainlink fence..

Evidently, a coyote had surprised him and had him in it's mouth just ready to do the death shake that breaks the neck.

I found out my neighbor had seen it happening and had run out and chased the coyote until he dropped Hoggie. The neighbor is a vet. He knew that the coyote's main concern was self preservation at all costs and would drop the food rather than be confronted.

I can not let him be outside anymore without supervision.

Friends, consider that temptaions to smoke out there like a pack of coyotes. Don't put yourself in compromising positions and GUARD YOUR QUIT!
