Got my gum today

I think I will have a good chance with using the gum as my aid in helping me stop for good. I am so looking forward to being smoke free for the first time in a long time. I never felt so good about quitting till I started reading everyone story's and there success. And there continued success.

Congratulations on your decision to quit.  It is one you will never regret!  I'm glad to see you are doing the recommended reading!

Please use the gum in the way in which it is intended to be used.  Try to distract yourself first - then take some slow, deep breaths, then maybe a quick walk and only THEN a piece of gum if the craving is too bad (it shouldn't be if you have successfully distracted yourself).

Please don't use as a "need a cigarette" - immediately pop a piece of gum.  That will only substitute one nicotine delivery system for another and not teach you how to relearn your life as an ex-  smoker.

Stay close to us here.  Ask questions when you have them and for support when you need it!

Glad you are taking the time to read others stories, it does help to know that we stop and remain smoke free no matter what happens in our life. Have you picked a start date yet?

Congrats on joining the club! This is the best place to find support and amazing advice. I just quit...I use the lozenges here and there. The way I do it...I work through the instant craving...breath and do something...if for some reason I'm feeling REALLY bad then I use a mini lozenge. It gets easier! Keep us posted

My start date is December 22 it's getting closer looking forward to it. Hopping this time I can make it and stay off the smokes. I am wishing us all the best of luck.
