My first cigarette was when I was 12 years old.  I was awkward, dealing with parents who had marital issues, and moved a LOT as a kid.  Always wanting to fit in at each school, I sometimes got involved with kids who were doing things they shouldn't have.  Got involved with a girl "gang", and they were the cool ones.  They smoked, so I joined, thinking that was a great way to fit in.  Now at 57 years old, I've smoked most of my life.  I've been sick more often, went through breast cancer surgeries, felt embarrassed at my coughing attacks, watched my Grandmother die from pneumonia after breaking her hip, felt the pain of my Father dying from a blood clot in his abdomen, prayed alongside my Step Father when my mother dealt with removal of part of her lung and dealing with many bouts of bronchitis and other lung issues. Now, my first Grandbaby is on the way and I still have 2 other daughters who want children some day soon.  I WANT TO BE HERE!  I WANT TO BE HEALTHY!  My girls have already lost their Father, and I don't want them to be alone without me here for them.  I have quit many times, but it has been stronger than me and always called me back.  NO MORE!  I am done.  Finally done!  Now I am going for surgery related to my breast cancer of 13 years ago.  Scary times.  I can do this!  I am stronger than cigarettes are!  I will Look better, I will Feel better, and I will be available to the people who are most important to me!  Because I WANT TO BE!  I WILL BE!  NO MORE CIGARETTES!!!!!!
