I woke up this morning definitly feeling out of routine. I had oatmeal this morning, and of course I want a cigg. Actually I really want to go back to bed. Ok I don't know what the hell I want to do I just know I've gotta do something besides smoke a dang cigg. I will not be DEFEATED!!!

Sleeping a little more is good, I went to bed early the first few weeks of my quit...

This part of the quit is a pain-in-the-butt, but anything worthwhile is going have a few challenges. Re-learning to navigate each day without a continual drug fix is one of them. We did it before we smoked, just gotta undo it, and know every minute, every hour and every day that we used to live without it just fine before, and we can damn sure do it again!

Be patient with yourself and the process. Easier said than done sometimes, I know. But, turning over the cravings to something greater than yourself (I didn't ask God, I frickin' told Him to get those thoughts out of my head, enough already!-Seriously, I did. And, yes it worked for me, albiet I may have to answer for it one day. *grin*), or taking a few deep breaths as we count to 10, or diverting our attention to something else, whatever it takes....just know that I don't do that anymore, all these tricks to get around wanting to smoke were short-lived and only in the early part of the quit. So what seems like a big mountain to climb right now truly will not be as bad as it seems as you add another day to your quit. Broken record but we can't say it enough here...IT DOES GET EASIER! 🙂

I have spent half the day in bed, and I am fine with it. It's been cold and rainy out, I have my laptop here, lots of books to read, get up and work out a bit, climb back in bed. I decided staying in bed my first day would be OK. Less temptation to go downstairs and near the door that goes into the garage (where I cleared out and fumigated my "smoking lounge"). I am on vacation until Monday, so I may be in bed on and off through the weekend. Thanks for sharing your thoughts during your (and my) first day as NON-SMOKERS! Yay!
