Giving ourselves the Gift of Life

Kicking the horrid nicotine poison to the curb and burying it six feet under and pouring a truck load of cement over the top to keep it there will give us a life of Freedom from the clutches of the cancer sticks and it's up to us to nurture and protect our quits because our they're  firmly in our grasp and it's up to continue stacking up those precious Days of Freedom I always want to remember and - N.E.F  - Never Ever Forget  - Ugh on another Day ONE - BUT YAY for each and every Day WON! Quitting smoking is a choice and remaining quit is also a choice, I'm always pushing N.O.P.E and vigilance because I don't want any of us to become complacent and lose the best gift that any of us will ever give ourselves which is the gift of LIFE! If we don't look after ourselves and our quits no one else can do it for us and I know that I love reaping the benefits of being an Ex Smoker and being able to enjoy the grandchildren without having to waste our quality time together to go outside every half hour BUT thankfully as Dale says and I'll say it with a huge smile I don't do that anymore .  we had our oldest grandson Adam overnight Friday and Mason overnight last night he's still sleeping......1e952da5417755e4ec3c482800e3ded5.jpg20180624_102241.jpg20180624_215323.jpg

You know this is SO true. All I ever have to do is look back and remember where I came from. How hard I worked for this freedom. I NEVER want that old Missy back. I never want to re-live the hell of starting a quit all over again.

I remember thinking how I could never in a million years ever quit. I had failed SO MANY times. I also remember coming here and all this support right off the bat. I could never go back. I will never go back. I love this new freedom. It has changed me in countless ways. This is truly a gift I want to keep forever.

At EX, we are all gifts to each other. I am excited everyday I log in here to see my friends and continue to be encouraged to maintain my own quit as well as helping everyone else however I can. We are all in this together and I love that. No matter how many days quit, we are ll equal here at Ex. I love that.

N.O.P.E. for me today!  Well written Blog Marilyn.

PS...LOVE THE PICS TOO!

We are all on the same journey and we can all hold each other up...vigilance is SO IMPORTANT, we see people who go back to smoking after long periods of time smoke free...NO...I do not EVER want to do that to myself again.  I am reminded every day with every breath that this did NOT HAVE to happen.

Hey there girly!!  Such a great blog.  I needed to hear this today along with all the great comments.  That rotten nico-demon is rat tat tatten on my door.  Just memories/thots.  No action will be taken.  No worries there thank goodness.  I'm going to have a grand day regardless!!  Thanks for always being supportive.  We all do what we can.  Nice family pics.

I'm a proud Gram of 2 grandsons and a granddaughter and I consider myself a jack of all trades and a master of none, plus I enjoy reading and being outside and since quitting smoking breathing is so much easier because I'm not coughing half of my time sucking on a cancer stick....
