From an overwieght lazy smoker to this!

Ran TEN FREAK'n MILES yesterday!!!! My lungs are LOVING life as a non-smoker, so am I 🙂 As a smoker I had ZERO desire to exercise, let alone run. Now I'm registered for two 10k runs, a half marathon, and considering shooting for a FULL marathon by the end of the year. Life as a non smoker is good, embrace it and run with it - no pun intended! LOL. Training for such runs is a LOT like qutting - it's one little step at a time, one day at a time. Every little bit adds up.

Good for you! Your body is LOVING YOU right now for giving it what it needs and wants - fresh air, exercise, and freedom from smoke and nicotine. Keep up the amazing work!

WOW, I just checked your page. You went from Zero desire to running 10 miles, in only 111 days!!! I thought for sure your clock was going to say youve been quit for years, not days. That is def inspiring to all us noobs just beginning this journey. Especially during our struggling "moments". It funny because I just told my husband a few days ago, that I keep getting this strong urge to just run!

@ Simtagous - go do it!!! It's amazing the changes this quit have brought about!! Start running a few times a week and you wont WANT to smoke, ever again!!!!! Ya know, they say to take a bad habit and replace it with a better one.... Keep up the good work, SO GLAD to see you here and on such a rewarding path 🙂

Way to go!!  Reading your blog this morning has inspired me to get back to the gym in my development!  I have not been very motivated lately (lots going on).  I know the best motivation is to "Just do it!"

BTW....I participated in the Relay for Life yesterday morning, but just power walked it.  It was a really warm and muggy morning in Naples, FL.

Thanks everyone - guess the message I'm trying to get out is to CELEBRATE life as the non-smokers you now are. In my case, this came from a completely unexpected direction but I'll take it, love it. The "quit" has inspired so many new things. Grab hold of whatever it is that inspires YOU to remain a non-smoker and cherish it, celebrate it 🙂

@ keptpromise - good job!!! It's so much more fun working out when you can BREATH!!!
