Four Weeks

Its Been A while since i've posted but figured i would get over here and post since it is a milestone today. It is my fourth week Smoke free. It Hasn't been easy, Have been trying to keep busy Cleaning the house Both cars and doing yardwork, But there are times When That Craving Is Lurking Around Saying Just one. But Have managed to turn them down. It is getting a little easier now. I am still using suckers instead of the cigs. It's funny how a habit will get you used to something. I Was at a party this weekend for my birthday and was sitting at a table with a bunch of smokers (Which didn't bother me) I Had one of my suckers in my hand for a while and Not realizing what I was doing I reached over near the ash tray and tried to flick my ashes . Everyone saw that and we all got a good laugh. Today my boss asked how long I had been quit, I Proudly told Him 4 Weeks, He Said Thats Great, But will I be able to get off the suckers or will I have to join another program for that. LOL Im kinda wondering the same thing. But For now I'm just glad they are helping me stay on my Quit.. I also thank all of you for posting your blogs, I come here and read them a lot and that helps too. Hope everyone has a Great Week.

Congrats on your 4 weeks. Me too. I have treating my life like a step program, one day at a time.

Congratulations Wes! I'm so glad you popped in to let us know about your four weeks! I smiled about the sucker and the ashtray. I remember once I was holding a pen when I got in my car, and realized about five miles down that I was holding it out the window and flicking. I thought at the time that I was on to something, but I haven't smoked in a car in years.

I hope we hear from you again really soon!

Congratulations, Wes! That's a really big milestone. I'll bet a good number of those smokers sitting around the table at your birthday wish they were where you are in your quit. You're right. It's not easy, but you hung in there. I like the story about trying to flick the ashes off your sucker. Quitting suckers will probably be a whole lot easier than this has been. It will get easier. I am at the 3 month point. I still have those nano seconds when I go to reach for one. It's not so much a craving as just temporary amnesia.

Great going!

Congrats on 4 weeks! Thanks for the story about the sucker & the ash tray--priceless! We have all done little things like that so don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Mine has become straws. I figured they have no nicotine or calories!

I remember when I started telling co-workers that I had quit. They were JEALOUS! I know I was of people who had quit when I was still smoking. Four weeks is wonderful! Way to go!
