I believe this is the first time ever I have not smoked a cigarette in  6 consecutive days.
tomorrow I will finish a week. first goal can be achieved.
also tomorrow is a big quit test as I have a job interview.
It will create a big stress factor in my brain, and urge will come back stronger.
I am trying to keep a calm mind by meditating and bringing my monkey mind’s focus to the present moment as it always want to run in past and future.
I am Telling my brain if this job is meant to be, then you will have it. There is no need to stress. But the brain memory of smoking in these type of situations will kick in. I will have to rely on the nicotine gum.
since tomorrow will be my 7th day, I need to be focused on my 1st goal, which is smoke free 7 days.
wish me luck.  Am confident I will beat down the urge. It won’t be easy but I am confident I will pass this test.

First, keep one of the BEST tools handy. It is the best stress reducer there is, and you can use it anywhere, anytime.  Do THIS when you first leave home, when you get to the location, do it again before you open the door to go into the interview room.  Do a less obvious version when there is a break in the interview, and start it AGAIN when you close the door behind you after the interview.  I STILL use this when I am waiting to get into the dental chair, or in the doctor's office, or before a surgery.

And - congratulations - after you ACE the interview and don't smoke for the rest of the day, you will have successfully completed H#ll Week - and you never have to go through it again!

Dgirdhar as of tomorrow you will be through hell week...whoo hoo!...The breathing exercises that Nancy YoungAtHeart suggested, helped me so much through this journey.  It will help doing them before your job interview.  Good luck and keep us posted...You can do this...~ Colleen 738 DOF

Think about how refreshing it will be to go to a job interview as a nonsmoker.  No worrying whether you stink or not.  Think how awesome it will be to come from a job interview and not smoke. Paint that picture. Breathe.  A wise elder once told me if you can quit smoking you can do anything.

I have all the confidence in you that you will continue way way past day 7   Never another Day One

Let us know how the interview goes & keep in mind that the employer would MUCH rather hire a NONSMOKER than a smoker. You can do this!

Congrats on your 7 days.  Hope the job interview went well.   The confidence you've gained by quitting can only help in the interview.
