Congratulations on the first day of carrying out your decision! Stay close to this website and read, read, read. Reach out to people, we are here to support you. I'm not on salary to this author, but I find it necessary to recommend reading Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking book. With it, and also taking bupropion (Welbutrin) my quit so far has not been too bad! (This is my 10th day). If you would like, you can also take this pledge with me:
Just for today, I will not smoke. I will be patient and kind to myself and others. NOPE (not one puff ever), thanks, I don't need one!
And you're welcome to send an email if you want to talk. Good luck! You can do it!
^ read that book. Congrats on day 1. Check out some other people's blogs and posts and reach out when you feel the craving strike... it will strike but I promise if you can make it to day number 4 you can make it to day number 4000000000000. Keep up the good work and remember NOT ONE PUFF EVER.
I third Allen Carr's book but I know if you can make it ONE day you can make it forever! How? One day at a time 🙂 it sounds scary that we really never stop quitting, but the truth is, soon you will reach a point when you won't think about smoking for days (unless its voluntary, like coming on this site). But we have to remember NOPE - Not One Puff Ever. One puff could ruin a 10 year quit. We never stop quitting because we never let ourselves forget that. Congrats on day one! -Taylor, day 91
