Talked to a lady at the doctors office last week . She said she was five years quit, one day on the way to a wedding they stopped at a convience store and her husband left his smokes in the car she lit one smoked it went to the wedding said the whole time she was in there she couldn't wait to get out to have a pack of her own been ten years and she is still smoking now with full blown lung disease..I told her I know I can't smoke just one I wouldn't even tempt fate. just goes to show one is to many...have a geat day stay smoke free and don't tempt your own fate..enjoy your Thanksgiving week we have more than we realize to be thankful for..I am thankful I have my life back free from the grips of addiction...you can do it..hugs Deb

Thats what tt's about. Those memories

We spent so much of our lives addicted. that we think one wrong thought thats a trigger

like a wedding?

And we can slide right back into it and cause premature suffering and an early miserable death

Yep, just goes to show that even though we may become comfortable in our quit, we can never let our guard down!

She forgot the one rule an Ex has to live by to stay an Ex. SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION.

I have a mantra every morning... I cannot smoke even one puff of one cigarrette because I am not strong enough to let it go. If I think I'm strong enough to let it go, then I should be strong enough to resist this stupid reasoning I'm making up in my head. Hugs...

"N.O.P.E." and "One puff away from a pack a day" - so important for me!!

thanks deb, needed to hear this. I had a 10 year quit when I became stressed at a new job and thats all it took was one puff and I was hooked for another 2-3 years, now I just struggle at less than one year, what does that tell ya!  Its doable again, but it sure gets harder,  I hope this encourages others to stay quit.
