I figure i must stop drinking vodka, cause that will trigger my habit i also stop drinking beer at the same time.  started drinking beer after 20 days. loving every pound (10) pounds that i gain.

Congratulations on 56 days of not smoking.  Cold turkey is sometimes coined smart turkey. You have come to the right place for a new day and a rebirth. The idea is to start at the beginning by making a commitment that no matter what happens or goes on in your life that you will not use it as an EXcuse to smoke.  With that philosophy you will have success on this journey.

No it is not easy but it is doable by using that principle and educating yourself about nicotine addiction.   If you hang around you will see that quitting is doable, because many of us have.  Look forward a new way of life that does not include smoking.  It is all up to you and what you are willing to do to be smoke free.

Quitting smoking requires hard work and determination not to give up.   It can be challenging at times but you will learn that it is doable if you adhere to NOPE not one puff ever no matter what.

Start first, by educating yourself about nicotine addiction because education is the key to a successful quit.

I've said many times today is the day, but hadn't given it a second thought. light up as soon as feet hit the floor. so i said that Night I'm Finish , Thinking of My  (1)ONLY GRANDSON  I must STOP  for  HIM ,  i have to live longer to see him become a young man.

Welcome a'board!  You may not realize it yet but you're really stopping for both of you.  1) so you can see him grow up to become a young man and 2) so he has a grandparent that will be in his life as long as possible.  You're also setting a great example for him to grow into.

You're very wise to have stopped the drinking during the earliest stage of your quit.  Booze is a quick quit killer.  (Try saying THAT three time fast!  Before or after the beer!  lol)  You're doing great!  Stick with it.  It will get easier and easier.  And then it will smack you upside the head, and you'll be surprised.  But don't let it best you.  YOU'RE now in charge!  Congrats on those 56 hard-earned, smoke-free days!

i never thought in million years that i will stop smoking, impossible I've smoked for almost 39yrs. my husband stop smoking 8yrs ago,I kept going, as of today he hasn't said anything for 57days (NO) smoke in the house. i believe he not saying anything to trigger me. i also have 4pks of smokes i haven't touch.

You have four packs of smokes you haven't touched?  What are you waiting for?  Why are you holding onto them?????  Why haven't you put them under the kitchen faucet?  Don't you understand that they promote you going back to smoking?  Keeping them around gives you the "out" - the permission.  The "Well they cost so much...." thinking.  Have you quit? Or are you still playing games with yourself about it? GET RID OF THEM!  When you DO, it will help to reinforce your decision. Ya know?  And you'll become one step more free because you've made that decision.  Please get rid of those four packs.   They are NOT helping you on this 56th smoke free day of your journey.

My journey is very strong, i have my way of being strong. My mind is made up, here is the deal if you going to smoke it doesn't matter where there at you can still go out to purchase them. so who's in control. ME

You know yourself the best. You "have your way of being strong" just like all of us do. More power to you!  " if you going to smoke it doesn't matter where there at you can still go out to purchase them."  Yes.   But you have to at least admit that if they're right there in your home, it DOES make it a little bit easier to feed your addiction should the desire overcome your commitment.  But obviously you are in control of your commitment.  Glad to know that!  Keep on your beautiful smoke-free  journey.  Obviously you're doing it right

I have to admit that I am skeptical of keeping cigarettes around, I thought I knew myself too...many, many times.  I smoked for 47 years and when I quit this time, I gave away 8 packs of cigarettes, all of my lighters, little ashtrays, and coupons.  I HAD to I know myself and I know that if I have to get in a car and go some place to get cigarettes and a lighter, that inconvenience is likely to give me time to reconsider and recommit to my quit.  Congratulations on your 57 days of freedom, I am seriously impressed.  I am happy for you and proud of you for your strength.  I couldn't take that chance with this quit.  It was too important to my survival.  Good for you for knowing yourself so well.

Congratulations on 56 days!!  One time I was quit for 3 months and I kept one pack with me as security wherever I went, I wasn't tempted by it, until one rough day when I'd had too much to drink and went and got one.  Well, the one led to another and another and another................this quit, I've finally realized I can't keep any so convienent in the house, and I'm more comited to making it work.  I know for other people they kept them for many years, and never touched them.  I'm glad you are doing what works for you.  I don't drink anymore, but still have booze in the house, and I know I won't touch it.

Hi my desire was so out of control on the third day. i thought i was going to go crazy, doing everything you would do with a cigarette, driving, talking on the phone, after breakfast, lunch, dinner. i almost BROKE DOWN i said No No No

YOU CAN DO THIS.

BB-COCKTAILS-2

That's actually how i feel.

BB-COCKTAILS-2

i do know i NEED to stay strong, i was talking and felt like i ran out of breath. i have a long way to go.

You can do this. But you can only do it with a 100%  commitment.  I don't see that in you yet.  I see the "I need to stay strong," etc.  But I can also see a blog of yours in the future saying "oh I didn't stay strong enough..."  Everything I'm reading in your blog and responses is telling me you're doing what you NEED to do but you haven't yet accepted the journey.  Accepting the journey doesn't mean transforming the "NEED to," to a "WANT to".   But it does mean transforming the NEED to - to an AGREED to.  If that makes any sense.  And if I'm totally of the mark here, feel free to let me know.  I've been wrong on many occasions here.  As we say "take what you need and leave the rest."

BB-COCKTAILS-2

it's not about what you see in me, you are supposed to life up.
