Exercise - my 2 cents worth

I have read so many blogs lately about new quitters thinking about starting to exercise more.

Yes, yes and yes.  If all you do is walk for 10 minutes then walk for 10 minutes.  Do it as often as you need to - to motivate yourself to NOT smoke.  To motivate yourself to list all the great benefits of clean lungs and a strong heart.

Can't leave your house or apartment? walk in place - walk around your home - ridiculous?  More ridiculous than sucking on poison for years - on purpose?!    Do jumping jacks - hang on to a chair swing your legs - MOVE YOUR BODY - use it the way it's supposed to be used - instead of pouring toxic chemicals into it.

We all have different circumstances.  We all have different options available to us.  Do as much as you can , as often as you can.   I live on 5 acres and in the beginning - when the urges got to be too much - I just put on my shoes - headed out the back door and walked until the urge had passed!  No fancy gyms, no driving to a 'walking spot'  - just walked around my yard!

For years we have been feeling the effects of smoking - it's AMAZING to begin feeling the effects of NOT SMOKING when you start using your body the right way!

..........................just my 2 cents worth ...................

Thanks Alice.  Today it was very hot and I walk on all my breaks at work and at lunch but because it is hot I don't want ot go out so I started walking inside the buildings.  I work at a university and it's beautiful on campus but when its to hot just walk in doors.  I went to walmart to pick up some food and spent an extra  minutes just walking aroung and dodging the people.  Hope I can remember sparkpeople.
