Embracing my withdrawal

I'm just finished my first day of tracking my cigarettes, and I smoked my last pack last night.

My head and body feel so confused this morning when I walked by the convienience store this morning instead of going in and buying a pack like I usually do. After taking a shower this morning, I didn't immediately light up, and I'm enjoying how good I smell!

I feel the ache and uncomfort of withdrawal, but I am embracing it as a growing pain, as a necessary and positive feeling. Its not that bad. I'm creating a bit of competition within myself, pushing myself to go further and further without taking a puff!

I certainly understand your confusion as I'm experiencing the same thing!  The things that I used to do smoking, are now done not smoking.  My head and body haven't gotten that concept yet.

My quit day was August 24, one whole day ago.  We can do this..... one day, one hour, one minute at a time!!

Hooray for your decision to Quit.  Your head and body will be confused for a while,  I called it having to create a new normal.  Everything used to revolve around smoking, so there are big holes to fill.  I changed many of my daily routines which created feelings of disruption, but did work.  Also, lots of positive self talk.

You certainly have a good attitude and that is everything while you go about not smoking. good for you for the decision to quit.
