I tried to quit cold turkey but after 10 days. I could handle the cravings with a couple of learned techniques. But on the 4th or 5th day I started to have a problem with my sleep. I had trouble going to sleep and when I did, I kept waking up after and hour or so and could not go back to sleep. About my 10th day, I was soooo tired and felt sick in my head and stomach. I broke down and picked up a couple packs of cigs; my sleep went back to normal.
I have come to the conclusion that I might need a nicotine replacement to help me. I previously tried the patch but had an allergic reaction to it. I cannot chew gum. I do not really want to use a prescription product due to all the side effects with them. I was told that the lozenges work as good as the gum.
I really need the opinion of those who have experience with taking the lozenges. I would like to know if they really did help you. Did you have any side effects? Did you experience sleep problems when using them?
A friend told me to use the Melatonin to help with the sleep problem....did you try it and did it work? I picked up a bottle of it yesterday....the extra strength (10 mg)...but really cannot give a testimony on it yet.
I am soooo thankful that I found this web site. I like to learn from other's experiences and I appreciate your input...thanking you in advance...
