Depression and Quitting Smoking

I don't write often but I do visit daily and read everyone's blogs.  Helps me stay focused and alert to the triggers of smoking again.  My counselors tell me that I only have mild depression.  Well.  I'd hate to see someone with a higher degree of depression.  I have to work hard every day combatting invisible ailments to keep a smile on my face.  Some days I don't do so well but I must say since I've been eating fruits and vegetables my head has been clearer and not so stuffy.

I have 104 days in as a non smoker and I'm very proud of that accomplishment.  It hasn't been easy at times but I'm very grateful that I haven't had strong urges to smoke...only passing thots of wanting a smoke which I quickly dismiss.  I wonder how I would do would such a strong urge come around??  We can only hope for the best.

The best part of quitting smoking is this site.  I come to it often and read.  Reading seems to develop your confidence in your quit.  I find that exercise helps both with my depression and my thots of smoking.  I hope your all continue with your quit as I will and keep blogging.  I love to read about how your day is going and your commitment to stay quit.  Thanks for letting me vent!!

Only 30 lbs. overweight now. Can hardly breathe in. Obtained acid-reflux since my last quit. LOVE being a non-smoker. Glad to be back.
