Dental appointment

I just got back from my semi annual cleaning and check up.  I have never had a cavity and didn't have any this time.  However, the last few times I had been to the dentist I kept getting asked about smoking and how much I smoked and then the usual barage of "you need to quit" speeches. I had gotten to the point I hated going because of it.  I actually looked forward to it today.  The dentist was very pleased and said she could already see improvement in my gums and was extremely glad I had made the choice to quit.  They didn't have to scrape nearly as much this time either.  Just another bonus!

When I was doing my prep to quit I discovered that smokers are twice as likely to lose teeth as non-smokers, have gum disease and other dental problems.  Hey, the benefits of smoke free living just keep getting better and better.
