Description
I am a married white female age 50 who has smoked for at least the last 35 years. After coming down with pneumonia twice within a year, I decided I needed to really think about quit smoking. Aside from the health issues, the cost of cigarettes and all the surrounding issues that go with cigarette smoking. The first time I came down with pneumonia, my doctor gave me the Chantix information. I decided I wasn't ready yet. Now I am ready and I started my Chantix today. I am taking baby steps. I am learning how to live through my everyday activities without smoking. I'm setting small goals to start with. My goal for this week is to wake up and get ready for work without smoking. For me this is my first hurdle. I would love to hear from other Chantix users. The first thing I noticed was about an hour after taking my first pill, I have a different taste in my mouth. The second thing I noticed was when I went to eat some mini powdered sugar donuts. It was like a sugar shock. I ate the same donuts last night before taking this new medication. What have others experienced? I am not setting a quit date. I'm taking 1 day at a time.
