You're right, Bill. Day 1 is a bitch. No tiptoeing around that, especially if you were a heavy smoker with deeply ingrained ritual behaviors. BUT Day 1 without smoking is not only possible, it's very doable. The same is true for days 2, 3 and all that follow. Some are easier than others, but all are doable. Take it in baby steps...one day at a time, one hour at a time....you'll get there! Good luck!

Bill, MLynne is right, it is doable and even more so if you take it by the hour and for get that you live by the day. Just don't smoke for this hour 😉

You can do it Bill! Make sure you are drinking ALOT of water to cleanse yourself as soon as possible of the nicotine! I have always been an hour by hour and day by day girl. It works, pretty soon you'll have so much time under belt you wont want t omess it up! It's an amazing thing to be an EX SMOKER!! Best of luck!

Bill...surround yourself with peace and serenity. You will do this. The smoking is just a habit..The hold it HAD is no longer. imagine if you will..the claws of that adiction trying desperately to hang on to you to drag you down into the murky waters of despair. and YOU...being strong enough to cast those claws away and stand tall. a NEW man. free of that addiction!

well day 2 is over and I had some really stressful moments, but I took Mrs.Hughes advise and actually drank water all day which for me is quite a feat to begin with but it did seemed to quelch the cravings so now I carry a bottle with me....so as I start day 3 will see what that brings, i imagine it will get somewhat easier but I also suspect that 1 or 2 of the cravings will be more intense than day 1 or 2 because its starting to loose it grip, so stay tuned and thanks for all the encouragement, it definitely is easier with the help of all of you...thanks again and good luck all.

Great to hear!! The water for some reason really helped me as well! You can do this, I promise, if you can get through those horrible first couple days. Once you learn the skills of fighting the cravings, it makes things much more tolarable! Come on Bill YOU GOT THIS!!!
