Day Two

Its funny that it is such a habit.  Im on day 2 after ten years.  I was reading the blogs last night on my laptop when I had an urge.  I put the computer on the coffee table and stood up.  I started walking towards the door to go smoke in the well below freezing in Alabama weather when I realized that I couldn't.  I quit.  I didn't have any cigarettes.  I let out a little frustrated scream and felt better.  My husband is on day four and had Alabama lost the BCS Championship today would have been my quit day.  Good thing they won!  I don't want to actually smoke though.  I know that if I did I would be coughing and have a buzz from hell which I don't like.  Today is my neice's bday party and I am going to be there.  Lord only knows how many kids on a sugar high will be there with me.  I will just have to breathe...clean air.

Day 2 is a pretty hard one, Melissa.  Just keep breathing deep and when one of the nasty urges comes on, REDIRECT!!!  It sounds easy but it's not certainly.  Judy is right... you're going to do it!  I'm at the end of my 2nd week and I absolutely can NOT believe I've made it this far!  If I can do it - and believe me, I've tried and failed many times but have never gotten this far - I know you & everyone else here on the blogs can!!!  Just think... no coughing, breathing deeply without effort, smelling great, tasting your food!  Stay strong!

If you are on day, that's great .. because on day 3 you sort of move through a threshhold of some sort and are about halfway through week one.  And after week one you're really on your way!!!  The cravings get much easier to deal with and you get stronger and realize you are more of a success than you thought you'd be, and then one day you're at day 30 and you don't know how on earth you did it, but you did!  Keep moving forward, you're going in the right direction now!

I meant to say "if you are on DAY ONE!" but my fingers forgot to move on the right keys so it came out looking rather silly which happens to me a lot!  ha ha ha ha

Actually I meant to say "if you are on DAY TWO!" and now I'm just going to stop typing but I surely do wish there were some way to EDIT a comment once you post it on these blogs because I am constantly re-reading my comments and saying to myself "Why don't you proof these things BEFORE you hit the send button?"  ha ha ha ha  Good luck to you in that COLD COLD Alabama state.  ha ha ha  I'm up here where it's really cold, okay?  ha ha ha ha
