Day Two

Well, here we are beginning day number 2 of the quitting process.  Just from using this site and having something else to think about allowed me to cut my smoking by 1/3 yesterday, which is a good thing.  I've already changed up my routine a little today as well.  I slept a little later than normal, and I didn't prepare my coffee to be ready right when I wake up today.  So now by the time coffee is ready and I'm having that initial urge, it will be time start getting ready for work, so no time to go outside and smoke.

I think that's enough for now.  I consider yesterday a success, and I'm predicting today will be also.

I used to drink a whole pot of coffee with half a pack of smokes for breakfast. Now I drink MAYBE 1/2 cup... it doesn't taste the same. Now I go for some juice then start on my water intake 🙂 oh and I eat breakfast too, woah Im almost human now LOL

changing routine will definately help... a morning walk with your Lab will surely make you both happy.

Coffee and cigarettes was my biggy too.  I use to tell people it takes an hour to do my 'insulin' routine just to give myself time for my 'cigarette' routine. lol.  New Routine...definitely.  Now I make my appointments early, grab a bottle of water and go!  You are doing great at working toward your goal.  Keep it up.  Protect your Quit.

Changing your routine will really help a lot.  Deep breathing really helped me.  i  to a count of 7 and out to a count of 11.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  Today's been a good day so far.  I'm planning on keeping it that way.

Nice dog.

Wrap both hands around the coffee cup and savor the warmth and the flavor.  Remind yourself that it is every bit as good without the butts.  Eventually it will feel that way. It is just a matter of reliving everything we used to do only now without the butts.

In my early days driving was a little tough.  My routine was to light up before I got into gear and left.  I was so happy on my Day 10 (or so) when I realized I had driven to work and not once even thought of smoking.

So hang in and it will all be easier and easier.

I also loved the reading at quitsmokingonline.com  It really changed my thinking about nicotine addi ction and also helped with commitment.

Remember NOPE - Not one puff ever.  Let that be your mantra.
