Day 3

I have tried posting several times and seem to mess up each time....so I am trying again.  If I have these things repeating everywhere, please forgive me.

Today is the worst so far...the actual cravings aren't any worse, but it is a very good thing I live alone.  I am not fit company for man or beast.  Quitting is MY choice, yet I am very angry with the rest of the world. The cravings are still there, but I seem to be getting used to them.  I wish I could just take a long nap (maybe 2 or3 weeks?)  lol

Anyway, from what everyone has told me, I am "fine" and just need to keep plodding along.  I know I haven't said much...so I thought I would just let you know that I'm still hanging in there.  (I can't believe this is ONLY day three!!!)

Days seem to pass so slowly in the beginning.  It was a good thing I live alone also.  I was toast.  It gets so much better.  It just takes time.  Hang in there.  You are doing well.

Congratulations on Day 3!!! You are doing great!!!

I was so tired at the beginning and slept a lot - quite honestly I was barely functional as a human being and it was a very good thing that I live alone as well. It does get better - you can do this! Hang in there and letn us know how you are doing! 🙂

Congratulations on day 3...you are getting through the worst of it...naps are great and being cranky is something that usually goes away...I will say though that I am much more likely to speak my mind now than when I smoked.

So glad you are hanging in there, sorry you have had trouble posting.

Congratulations on day 3, the nicotine is now out of your system and that's a good thing. My moods were all over the place in the bbeginning of my quit too. Someone could look at me the wrong way, maybe I'd cry or maybe I'd want to rip their face off but after 2 or possibly 3 wks each day starts to get easier and believe me it's sooooooo worth it.

So PROUD of you.  for day 3, and for coming here to "complain".  I think that this is the best place to be, where we share and care.   I did a lot of sleeping and napping at first.  I was fatigued and well, I don't smoke when I sleep.  I gave myself a lot of leeway to do whatever it took to continue on the no smoking journey.

OH, and I was cranky too.  I know one of my posts was something like "Bitch it out"!!

So?  Day 3 is over.  Done.  You made it, right?  Wanting to kill your spouse, strangle your child and smack your pet, let alone bark at a stranger, yell at a co-worker and stomp on a neighbor - are all quite normal during the first days of quitting.  Not to worry.  LOL

Keep taking it one day at a time.  Just get through the day.  And keep in the back of your mind that it WILL get better and better.  But it takes time.  And you can't, unfortunately, rush it.  Have heart!
