Day Seven!

DAY SEVEN! ONE FULL WEEK! I’m so excited, happy and proud of myself!  I am sleeping better, less cravings and overall feeling so much better.  I still have moments of automatically reaching for one and the grumpiness is still there at times.  The hardest still seems to be after meals.  But it is a little easier each day.

When my grandson left yesterday, I lost my distraction.  But I filled my time with laundry and some cleaning that I had been putting off.  It worked out for the most part.  I did get snippy at one point.  I felt so bad because it was so dumb.  Luckily, my husband (the recipient of my nastiness) just looked at me and started laughing.  At that point, it hit me that I was being a butt for no reason.  I am so lucky to have someone that understands my struggle.

About 6 years ago, Chris (my husband) was really sick with pneumonia.  He was a 2 pack a day smoker.  At day 3 of not feeling well, he realized that he hadn’t had a cig and didn’t want one.  He never picked them back up even with me, friends, family and coworkers smoking around him.  So, he understands what I’m going through.  I’m so proud of him for quitting and now he’s proud of me.  Took me long enough, though! Lol

Today will be my 2nd Monday smoke-free.  Let’s see how it goes.  I’ve got this!

A lot of folks here had the cleanest homes EVER when they first quit!  It's a distraction that always works.

On to Week Two and then to FOREVER!

Keep at it!
