Day 8 and pressing on!!

I made it through my first weekend with no smokes... it was pretty tough from time to time but I didn't really have much of a desire to smoke... I'm definitely a weekend drinker and have always enjoyed a couple of cocktails after the long week but found that those few cocktails made life too tough when I went for it on Day 1 so I skipped it this weekend... DH had some friends over and I had to hide out upstairs b/c some of the guys smoke and are always more than willing to let me grub one... they thought I was being anti-social but I think DH explained what was up so they know I'm still cool haha... I did get worried b/c I realized that I was eating more than usual but it was all good and I'm pretty sure I can lock that habit down during the week and not worry too much about gaining... going to the gym the next 3 days to make up for it... I'm hoping I can start motivating to the gym on the weekends but I love being lazy so I'm not sure if that will happen... I really thought that all the down time would be a problem with cravings but it helped a lot that it was so freaking cold and all I wanted to do was stay cuddles with my blanket and watch TV... Really feeling great... can't wait until I get to double digits...

Yes, this is a ramble... feel free to leave rambles on what you're up to... ( :

Thanks for the encouragement Brenda... gotta admit, I gave myself a pat on the back even though I did find the need to hide out... at least I knew that was what I needed to do instead of just braving it and risking giving up.

Congratulations, you have a great attitude, when I quit I had to stay away from people who smoked, then one day I realized I was standing outside talking to a bunch of SMOKERS and it didn't even bother me...I'm one of those people who doesn't hate the smell of a cigarette, now stale smoke smell on people is a different story...anyway you are doing great, hang in there and let me know if I can help in any way...

Hello Mrs.X 8 days is fantastic, wtg protecting your quit ! It gets easier to do as time goes on sat I did a babyshower where everyone went outside for cigs except me and the pregnant lady ... lol, then I went to my friends house and drank beers w- her and did not wanna smoke any cigs.
My point is in the begining I kinda was anti socal too and it's o.k. You will ease back to being normal I promise !
