That way if I have a good day or a crappy one I can stay on track. I am still coughing up lots of junk and my lungs hurt but I have more energy. The moving around and beening more active is paying off I have lost 5 lbs. some of that was due to illness but some was due to not smoking. I desided not to switch smoking for food I was already over weight by 45 LBS. i changed sugar to honey. I started making my sandwiches into lettice wraps and I am not talking about skimpey ones I am talking good one with all kinds of yummey stuff in them. I am acetualy eating moor just better lots of spices and I can taste them now. * days and loving life big hugs to every on have a great day. if your having a hard day it will get better be good to yourself today I chalange every reader to do at least one nice thing for yourself to day you earned it and you are worth it love ladybug.

Way to go Ladybug! What a blessing to see and feel results so quickly! I am right behind you on Day 6. It is amazing how I wake up in the morning and feel different about myself and about the day. I am positive and have energy! I am looking forward to more days/mornings like this!

Hi ladybug. I like your post, and your attitude. I'm also very early in my quit - day 4, and want to blog often. I also feel the same way about substitutions as you do. When I quit in Apr. 2011, I let myself eat too much of the wrong stuff even tho I was already overweight. I gained 28 lbs. in a year, but lost all but nine of it when I started smoking again last summer. However, in the months since I started smoking again, I've gotten into eating organic, low carb, and raw. It's really paid off. I plan on keeping up with that in my forever quit here. Last nite for supper I had a grilled hamburger patty and a salad.  I had a greek yogert, and 2 pieces of string cheese for breakfast. Lunch is a big bowl of strawberries. Mostly for the rest of the day I'll snack on fruit and salad if cravings hit, and for supper I'll have a half chicken breast and a warmed veggie, or salad. Sure ain't gonna gain any weight that way, lol. If I really start wigging out, I just go outside and walk around the neighborhood for 15 min. or so. My "good thing" for myself today just may be a bubble bath tonight. Hang-in there kiddo....we'll do this together!!!!

Fabulous idea to blog often with updates! Congrats on your quit and on the weight loss! Another smart thing - not substituting food! Way to go Ladybug!
