Day 8️⃣... Effing day 8️⃣

Ugh.... so it’s only 11 and I’ve had more cravings today than all days combined; or at least that’s what it feels like

Everytime I go track a craving I keep looking at “my stats” to regain my focus. I’m not letting my guard down and I’m definitely staying away from 7-11 or gas stations I used to buy smokes at. Maybe I need to smell a smoker to remind myself of what an asstray I used to smell like.  Not really, but I’m really grateful I have not smelled any smoke or any smoker since I quit, I’m sure that has been a big help on my journey so far.

ONLY 8?? !!!!!  Eight is a BIG deal!!  It is to be celebrated!

Maybe think about what you have been able to do with the extra 13 hours you have gained?  Or what you might do with the money you have saved by not buying smokes?

Or what you might do with the money you will have saved after a month !?

Celebrate!!!  Be PROUD!

You're still in heck week which is still pretty powerful as far as cravings go!. Still part of the roller-coaster. Just don't stop right before the miracle. I have never heard anyone here feel bad about a cigarette not smoked, but everyone of us that's relapsed have regretted it. Just hang in there, keep your hands busy, deep breath and I also prayed. It will soon get much better!

Looking at your stats is great motivation.  Maybe go to Quick Quips‌, grab a quip out of there and repeat it to yourself whenever you have a craving.  Turn it into a little ditty maybe.  Like this:

A craving is not a command, ta da

A craving is not a command

My quit is not built in the sand, ta da

My quit is not built in the sand

I've got it securely in hand, ta da

I've got it securely in hand

Or

Keep them away from your face, uh huh

Keep them away from your face

No need to be a disgrace, uh uh

No need to be a disgrace

That crave I'll put in it's place, uh huh

That crave I'll put in it's place!

Be creative.  Make your quit fun.  8 Days is GREAT!

I put this up on my refrigerator a week before I quit

It is still there and I am over 200 days

It gives me peace as it says it all

I love that you lean on your stats. Those are yours. I love seeing mine. I can't break this quit (not to mention that I don't want to). I also like the idea of smelling a smoker. Go to any grocery store, Walmart, or place where people go and boom, there's at least one person ready to walk down the aisle beside you. It never fails. I can't handle the smell of smoke. If we realized we smelled like that, would we have kept it up? Imagine the days of everyone smoking inside at home and at work and everywhere else.

You touched a nerve for me. LOL I hate that smell!

I hope your urge is easing up. You are stronger than all of them. Congrats on soon-to-be double digits!

The smell.... we are both driven crazy by it. But I never thought 2x about it while I was the cause of it.
