Share your quitting journey
I have been trying to write a blog for the past few days and for some reason everytime i clicked on write a blog it brought me to my last blog and it would say publish as though I never posted it. I finally hit publish and it cleared it ! Don't ask me ! Maybe it was " just dust " !
I want to thank Everyone of you who congratulated me on my 700 DOF milestone ! My carpal tunnell is returning. I had a cortisone injection months ago and it really gave me some relief but now the pain burning and numbness is returning so I could not thank each one of you individually . I need to have the surgery because I do not want anymore cortisone!
I am coming up on the two year milestone I never thought I would see the day !!! One day at a time ...they really add up !
I smoked for 52 years and I was a heavy smoker ! In the last 20 years a little more then a pack a day and I even had to fight to keep myself down to that amount ! In my younger years I was a 2 pack a day smoker and often even 3 packs ! I guess raising the price, though painful to me at the time, at least resulted in my cutting down and also increased my desire to quit for good . Quitting for good took me many years ! My first real quit was cold turkey in 1989 I made it three months and just when It was getting easier I gave in to trying just a few puffs by the end of the evening I smoking like a chimney as though I never even had quit !!! So Please if you are new don't kid yourself ! NOPE is a must ....Not one puff ever !!!!
After that attempt I did not even really try again for 10 more years then followed a number of shorter failed quits until i finally found The Ex Community ! Coming to this site really helped me to quit .The education, the positive energy from so many ex-smokers, the caring ,the support all of it has helped me finally quit and be Happy doing so !
Please believe us when we tell you that your quit will become easier with time it truly does ! I am so very happy to be free of that addiction .
