Day 7 – One week smoke free

I just had to boast a bit about my new record of 7 days being smoke free.  I made it one full week.  It has been a real wake-up call for me as now I feel like I can actually go to the gym and do some exercise.  I wasn’t able to do that as a smoker because I did not have enough energy and was constantly breathless.

I am looking forward to all the new things I may be able to do after I quit even longer and my health continues to improve.  I am also thinking of what I can do with all the cigarette money I will save as well as the money I spent at doctors’ visits and medications all to keep my lungs functioning as a smoker.  What a scam cigarettes are and I am grateful for have found Ex, but honestly it is my faith in God that keeps me going through this new journey.

I took my wife to the movies the other day. Something I never did as a smoker because I could not sit through a movie without a smoke.

Congratulations on day 7 of your new quit.

As grandpamike said, so many new things you can do now that you aren't held back by that nasty nicotine addiction.

I'll be traveling on airplanes and cruise ships next month with my husband and other non-smokers. I don't have to worry about holding anyone up or worrying about offending anyone with my fresh smelling stench on this vacation. Now that's an oxymoron (fresh smelling stench).

You are going to love the continued freedom that you have aquired.

You go ahead and boast, you've earned it! Now how about planning a little reward for yourself at say...14 days? Gives you a goal to work towards. I went and had my hair done.

Yes Patty cake. I know you mean by offending people. I'm tired of sneaking back into corners out in the cold. People glare when you're out having a cigarettte.  always worried about where to go when I'm not at home.

thank you too rebuilding me .

Okay grandpa Mike. I completely get that not going to the movies because there's no place to smoke. I tried to avoid places that are non-smoking but no more.   I don't have to be afraid. Thank you for that wonderful post it reminds me of all the things I could be doing

Hey Joy,....WOW Hell week?  I think if that was hell I am in heaven.   Yes I have had my share of doubts and challenges, but it really comes down to I want to do this for me and not someone else this time.

I feel pretty good!

Thank you.
