Day 6

Experiencing more intense cravings than the last couple days-- finding it difficult to weather through them-- BUT-- I will. Experiencing intense anxiety, and edginess. Definitely need to keep myself distracted today. I refuse to give in as I do not want to have to go through this again. I keep telling myself it has to get better at some point.

It DOES get better - just hang in there!  There is no way out but through.  Do you have a list of dfistracting activities handy?  Remember, you can take slow, deep breaths any time, any place.  Going for a walk is also a good idea.  A bit of chocolate can help.

ANYTHING but smoke!  Hang on!

It WILL get better.  Get physical if you can, it will distract you, release dopamine, and might remind you of why you want to quit if you get short of breath.  No one wants to go back to day one.

Please think of your quit as a newborn baby, YOUR newborn baby, and you are the only one who can care for and nurture this baby.  Others will be around to support you but this is YOUR baby an it needs you to get stronger and to grow every day. Please keep in mind that craves only last a couple of minutes and they go away whether you smoke or not.  Actually smoking FEEDS them and they are certain to keep coming back and getting stronger.

Take care of your baby.

Thanks for your support. I do feel a little better now after calling someone for support and taking deep breaths.
