Ok, I started the morning off wanting a cigarette so bad but have kept myself busy so not to think about it anymore. So far so good. Being home is the hardest because that is where I did most of my smoking. I loved sitting on my patio with a diet coke & a cigarette!! Havent spent that much time out there since quitting. I would like to thank everyone for the support & advice I have been given. You guys are great. I think if I can get through my first weekend of not smoking, I've got it made. Prayers please!!!

you can do this. smoking actually creates stress because you always want another. its like you are on a smoking time clock and have to have your fix. thats stressful

I know, I had to avoid going outside at home for awhile too. I would race out and water my flowers and race back in. You could try sitting out there with a Diet Coke and a snack if you're really missing your spot? Do whatever you have to do to protect your quit.

Laurie-Took me a diet coke & a box of hot tamales out there just a few minutes ago. Not healthy but better than a cigarette I guess. I actually took my last cigarette (holding on to it for a keepsake I guess) and just held it. didn't light it, didn't put it in my mouth. Just held it. That seemed to do the trick.

You know, I had the same thing. My spot was on my balcony, I'd sit out there and smoke and read my book. I don't do that anymore. I get a little nostalgic for it, but not really. I'm doing other things now. I read in bed. And I spend more time with my boyfriend at his house now that I don't smoke.  In a month you may think, "gosh, I never sit on the patio anymore." But it will just be a fleeting thought as you move on to some other task. It's funny how sometimes you can make a transition so easily while you're doing something that is so difficult. I think it's our brains working for us, taking care of us. Or guardian angels maybe 🙂

Jules-I am hoping this passes because I love my backyard & patio. It's kind of like my sanctuary. It just feels so weird to go out there & just sit. No ashtray,no lighters & no cigarettes. Thank goodness for guardian angels.
