I don't know about the rest of you guys but I hope going cold turkey was the right thing to do.  I am a creature of habit. And didn't smoke in the house. This is funny. It's been 6 days since I quit right. Well this morning I get out of bed(nice warm bed),go put on the coffee, shove my bare feet into my house shoes, fix my cup of coffee, grab a jacket, walk outside to smoke with my first cup. DUH.... I don't smoke anymore why do I keep doing this. I mean it's 24 degrees outside    and I just know if I open the door to my sons truck there is a pack of cigs just inside the console.  but I stop the truck is locked THANK GOD. So here I am ready to be reprimanded..

Hi Patricia, Your body and mind are readjusting--this is quite a little process going on.  It reminds me of the time I moved from the apartment my son and I had lived in for 20 years.  I moved only a mile away, but it took me 2 weeks to stop driving home from work and driving to my old apartment.   Just made me shake my head in amazement every time I did it.  Old habits die hard.   Glad the truck was locked.  They do say it takes 21 days to break an old habit.    Keep up the great work.  No reprimands here--never give up.  One moment, one hour, one day at a time.

Hugs and have a great day.

Hello...I to am on day 6, and right there with you. After 23 years of smoking, it becomes such habit that we dont much think about it anymore.Isn't  it funny how "us" outside smokers would trudge outside in sub zero tempatures just to have a smoke. Old habits certainly die hard!!!!! I know how much of a struggle it must have been for you, but thank GOD the truck was locked! Look at it......"it was a sign" ......you will be much healthier....COngrats on making it this far. Stay strong. We CAN DO THIS!
