Day 546: Still here. Covid ain't got me yet.

Greetings all:

When I was in recovery for another issue, I use to hate those people who quit cold turkey one sunny day and never looked back, never had a craving,  and just skipped along  as an EX-(fil-in- the- blank) singing a catchy tune.  Really hated those guys.

Have I  mentioned that, since i quit smoking (cold turkey) I have never had a craving? Or a desire to pick up? Now I know why I never understood them; they never understood the struggle.

I have been gone awhile, because I wanted to focus on myself and my health. Turns out, things are less than perfect, aerobic-wise  and I have had to let the cycling go due to a minor COPD issue, due to --you-know-what.  But I have the best PCP who, since October last year, has  put me through all manner of tests to find out exactly what's going on and is working with me, so I have enormous confidence that I will be back on the bike in the not-too-distant future. Chester is still with me, and doesn't seem troubled at all, but is very glad for a much cleaner house.

I retired from Rice University last year in February and am now working on my Latin so I can finish my BA / History and graduate in Spring, 2022. Am also looking for something PT that requires me to be a smart vegetable. You know, like a Museum info officer. Something I can do by just saying, "Welcome to Blah, blah," then point where the person needs to go. I could do that for four hours. Sure.

In the meantime, I'm still playing with analog photography, gardening, and adding new things to the Colvin's Glorious Recipe Book, and when I go out I mask up, even though I've been fully vaccinated since April.  I've also begun playing with Photoshop which is addicting -- and does not cause SOB. 😉

Life goes on.

Chester says hello.  (And he has a PSA for the hardheads.)

Kind regards,

A

Good to see you; better still to hear you are still not smoking!

I hope you DO hang around!  We elders are getting to be an endangered species here!
