Day 51

Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself! I am Crystal. I live in Ohio and have been smoking for 25 years!! And i quit on August 29th, 2016. It has been very challenging but i am very dedicated to not smoking again. I am currently on the patch and the nicotine inhaler and it is working for me. My doctor allowed me to use both because i needed to quit smoking really badly due to worsening COPD. But since quitting 51 days ago i feel fabulous! Honestly had quit a couple years ago for 8 months. But this time just seems much different. I have joined a different gym this time ...one that has classes which are very important to me. I love yoga, it is relaxing and energizing to me. I especially like the hot yoga where the room is 95 degrees...this is something that i definitely could not have done while smoking! I have found that a majority of the time i just need to check my own thoughts about things because i am very good at sabotaging myself. i also have found that it makes it easeir to stay quit by focusing on helping other people to quit or stay quit and have been focusing time and energy on that. I think that is because I am a nurse in my profession and it just kind of makes it like nursing. But im not sure. I do have my moments and i guess that those last a while. Wish you could just forget that you ever smoked to begin with!

Welcome to our community!

You are now traveling through what we call No Mans Land, the period from 2-4 months  quit when a random, intense crave might ambush you out of the blue.  If you are not suirprised by it and use the distraction tools that worked for you early in your quit, it will have no power over you.  Just wanted to warn you so you are ready - just in case.

If you take some time to read blogs and the pages of folks who have been quit awhile, there is lots to learn.

Congratulations on 51 days!
