Good morning everyone. Today i am smoke free for 50 days. I am so proud of myself. But I know that I am in nml though. Every once in a while a smoke thought comes to my mind. I just tell mymyself. I dont do the anymore. or Nope. The thoughts dont stay with me though. They come and go pretty fast. My sleep is still not great . It is a little better though. I have slept 2 out of 6 nights. But I have been coming on here reading blog posts everyday and reading about nml to get educated on the things I might start going through. Well thank you to everyone for being here for me. it makes a world of difference when you have support. God Bless each and everyone of you.

NOPE!  Walking around the problem is usually good advice for a smoking thought.  We've already analyzed why we don't do that anymore so there is nothing sensible to hold on to.

In no man's land, as well as in life in general, I have things that trouble me included a smoking thought that hangs on, getting obsessed with a video game, something embarrasing at work, etc.  That's when it is useful for me to take pause and analyze what is going on, albeit quickly.

For instance, smoking.   If the thought is it would be pleasant to smoke.  Does that seem sensible?  Is that based on objective reality?  In my experience the first smoke is gross.

But, let's say my experience was that the first smoke was enjoyable?  What then?  Well does it aid my survival?  Will it help my emotions?  Will it protect me from others?  Will it help me reach my goals?

The first thought may be right.  It may be enjoyable.  It doesn't mean that it is a rational thought or that I have to.

Good job on 50.

Congrats on 50 days! I consider that a big milestone - celebrate! As a matter of fact, celebrate each and every day of freedom!
